Get ready for
your first exercise.
Open the exercise on the homepage. Choose voice to use your microphone, or keyboard to type your clearances.
Open the exercise ↗Microphone and audio
Choose Start with voice and allow microphone access when your browser asks. A headset helps keep the pilot audio out of your microphone.
If access is blocked, open your browser's permissions for atcvector.com, allow the microphone and restart the exercise. You can use keyboard mode without a microphone.
Voice requires an internet connection and a browser that supports microphone recording. Your transmissions go to Deepgram in the EU. Read the privacy notice.

When a command is not recognised
Check the callsign against the aircraft label. Use the phrase in the instructor hint as a starting point. If voice transcription is wrong, use Type transmission to correct the call.
After an accepted clearance, check the pilot's readback and the radar label. A new cleared flight level appears before the aircraft reaches it; a heading change takes time to complete.
If voice is unavailable or its usage limit is reached, continue with typed transmissions. For help, email support@atcvector.com with your browser name and the message you saw.
What the exercise covers
The exercise starts with routine traffic and introduces a MAYDAY during the session. The aircraft continues its emergency descent while you acknowledge the call and manage nearby traffic.
It is a short introduction to the trainer, not a complete emergency procedure or an assessment of your competence. Follow your instructor's guidance during your course.
